Nightingale Hour

Privacy Policy

Last updated November 3, 2026

Nightingale Hour is a sleep app. It has no accounts and no sign-in. It never asks who you are, and the little it reports about how the app is used is anonymous.

This policy explains what the app keeps on your iPhone, what it sends to us, and what we never see. It applies to the Nightingale Hour iPhone app (bundle identifier com.nightingalestudios.nightingalehour) and to this website.

Nightingale Hour is operated by Nightingale Studios LLC ("we", "us").

The short version

No account, no name, no email, no advertising identifier, no tracking across apps or websites, and no selling or sharing of data. The app sends us anonymous usage statistics (which tracks are played, for how long) under a random ID that is not linked to you, so we can see what listeners enjoy and improve the catalog.

What the app keeps on your device

Anonymous usage statistics

On first launch the app creates a random install ID. It is not your Apple ID, not your device's advertising identifier, and it is not connected to your name or any contact details. Under that ID the app sends:

We use this only to understand which content people listen to and how the app performs. It is stored with our database provider, Supabase, on servers in the United States. It is not used for advertising, not combined with data from other companies, and not sold or shared.

Audio and artwork

Tracks and artwork are streamed from our storage when you open them. Like any web request, the storage service sees your IP address and which file was requested, in order to deliver it. We do not use this to build profiles.

Notifications

If you turn on the bedtime reminder, the app asks iOS for permission and schedules a local reminder on the device itself. No push server is involved. You can switch it off in the app or in iOS Settings.

Purchases

Nightingale Hour Premium is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card, your Apple ID, your billing address or your name. Apple tells us whether a subscription is active, renewed, cancelled or refunded, linked to the anonymous install ID. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

What we do not do

Children

The app has stories that families may listen to together. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The statistics described above are anonymous and are not linked to any person.
